ABOUT US

Etana is a hybrid decentralized system that leverages mesh networks to provide seamless access to financial services in underserved regions. It is designed to function without reliance on traditional internet or infrastructure.

TECHNOLOGY

Etana combines Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) for smartphones and USSD/SMS integration for feature phones. Powered by mesh networks and LoRaWAN, devices communicate directly and queue transactions, which are securely synced to blockchain platforms. With captive portals for seamless onboarding and offline functionality, Etana delivers a scalable, secure, and cost-effective solution to bridge financial gaps.

CURRENT DEVELOPMENT

We are currently continuing to work on research and development with a MVP being continously tested.

The intention is to keep women in mind for every step of the design process, which is why we are working with the ThinkPlace office in Nairobi, Kenya to conduct research pilots.
